Last Thursday, when I was at work, I was speaking to a flight attendent. She mentions her mother has a new boyfriend, however, the flight attendent is not happy with the union. I asked why. She says partially due to the fact that her mother is 82 and her lover is 46. Though, her 82-year-old mother is healthy, active, independent, and youthful for her age, the relationship seems odd to the daughter...along with the belief that the 46-year-old is using her for money. I thought the story was strangely interesting. I told her before my birth, my parents got together despite their 32-year age difference. My mother was her early 30's, while my dad was in his early 60's. My paternal half-siblings were sicken by the relationship from the beginning, especially due their own mother's sudden death and the alleged affair shortly before. My then 12-year-old maternal half-brother wasn't pleased about it, either. However, with him being a minor, he had no say. Me, I opened to the flight attendent, telling that I was struggling with a man in his early 60's having feelings for me. She said something was wrong with him. I couldn't agrue a bit...it's all too weird.
